Professional Career and Academics

My background in Systems Design Engineering allows me to take on diverse technical roles including software dev, PM, and data analytics. My interest in neuroscience and psychology has motivated me to also pursue a Minor in Cognitive Science.

Research Engineer

I'm currently working on a neuromuscular speech product involving biosensors and human participants to develop the largest known EMG dataset in existence. My role consists of co-developing the SOP and hosting experiment sessions

Undergrad Research Assistant (URA)

I'm currently working alongside a PhD Candidate to study the relationship between mind-wandering, perfectionism, and sustained-attention. I have developed the software experiment, created the SOP, obtained ethics approval, and hosted experiments with 50+ undergrad students.

Python Developer Intern

I  worked to develop a data visualization tool that converted customized training procedures from data tables into professional-looking PDFs required by federal and international aviation regulators.

I  worked at a fast-paced start-up where I contributed to the client pipeline, hosted discovery calls with potential clients, and strategized short and long-term client acquisition initiatives

Technical Recruiter Intern

I worked as a technical recruiter and Campus Program Manager at Atolio. I worked closely with the co-founders to identify senior engineer candidates and lead the intern program throughout the organization

Manufacturing Data Analyst Intern

I worked as a data analyst at PINpoint where I analyzed manufacturing data to improve client productivity by identifying hidden insights and KPIs using tools like Excel, PowerBI, and a MES software.

Data Analyst & Visualization Specialist Intern

I worked as a data analyst at Scotiabank as a part of the BI & Analytics Team in Canadian Banking Technology. I balanced data manipulation and visualization requests with the framework development of the new team.

Web Developer & Early Talent Analyst Intern

This term comprised of a unique role at Scotiabank where I worked in two teams simultaneously, Cloud Operations and Campus/Early Talent. I was responsible for making changes to internal web pages based on user requirements. I also collected and presented user feedback to PMs regarding the onboarding process and internship experience.

Project Control Officer Intern

My first co-op term was at Scotiabank where I was responsible for delegating business requests and projects while ensuring user requirements were fulfilled within the given timeframe. I also assisted with vendor meetings to improve organization and transparency.

This program has a multidisciplinary approach providing us with the flexibility to take on complex real-world problems.

The co-op program, which comprises of 2 full years of work experience, allows me to apply myself in professional settings while simultaneously exploring my interests.  

The program has been described by one of our professors as the following: the way the world works (systems) and how the world can be changed (design).

The human brain has always intrigued me and when I learned about Cognitive Science, I knew it would be a great fit in my educational career.

This field of study is described as an interdisciplinary study of mind and intelligence, applying concepts from psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, and computer science.
